Freeport Harbour Company (FHC) operates the Lucayan Harbour Cruise Facility in Freeport Harbour – one of the largest manmade harbours in the world. The facility includes six berths with a total length of 2,501 metres and a depth alongside of 9.14 metres.
The harbour offers cruise and day ferry visits, roll-on/roll-off for containerised and LTL cargo, car transshipment, wet docking and ship repair facilities. Services include the provision of bunker fuel, customs services, pilotage, port agent services, launch services, shipchandler and marine-supply services, stevedoring services, tugboat services, provision of water, waste disposal and warehousing.
The facility also has over 2,600 square metres of retail space, including a shopping and entertainment complex and a Bahamian straw market with hair braiders, local straw work and other indigenous crafts. This complex also includes a restaurant with local cuisine, a sports bar, vehicle rental facilities, souvenir stores, an art gallery, a linen store, an ATM and covered pick-up areas. All facilities are handicap accessible. |
